For Egg Donor Recipients: The Process of Receiving Donor Eggs

egg donor recipients

Many women encounter difficulties and challenges on their way to parenthood, including diminished egg quality or the absence of viable eggs due to premature ovarian insufficiency (POI). Luckily, through assisted reproductive technologies (ART) like In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF) or Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI), these challenges may be overcome by using donor eggs. The donated egg will be fertilised through the sperm of either the partner or a donor.

The process of finding the right donor, as well the ordering and receiving of the donor eggs can be quite complex for intended parents. Find all the information you need below.

Find An Egg Donor

At Ovoria we understand the needs of the couples who are looking for frozen donor oocytes for their fertility treatment cycle. By identifying information important to our patients and thoroughly discussing with them, our coordinators provide egg recipients with counsel and can perform a donor matching (donor selection) at no added cost. Moreover, couples and individuals will get free access to our online egg donor catalogue, enabling the selection of the perfect donor. Coordinators and counsellors will together with the recipients discuss the available guarantees system, prices and the following procedure once the donor is selected.

What is the process of ordering donor eggs for Intended Parents?

item number one

Register Online. Select The Egg Donor.

The initial step for recipients is registration in our online egg donor catalogue. Individual patients (as opposed to clinics) should select the “Private client registration” form. Fill in all the requested fields, press “Register”, and you will become an authorised system user.

After the registration is completed, you will get access to view egg donor profiles. Recipients can select and order the donor's eggs, view the egg donor price, and the number of eggs available.  Moreover, you will be able to view adult and childhood photos of the donor, as well as an overview of the donor's personal features, such as their hair and eye colour. Lastly, recipients will also be able to retrieve information about their donor's medical history and the different genetic testing they have completed during the screening process. Please note that standard genetic testing is done for every donor from our database, and extended genetic testing is carried out upon the request of the customer.

item number two

Contact The Ovoria Coordinator.

Our coordinators will advise donor recipients regarding our available guarantees system, prices, and the following procedure once the donor is selected. Patients are able to choose between an anonymous or open ID egg donor and make decisions regarding the number of oocytes they would like to order. At Ovoria, we offer sets of 6, 8 or 12 oocytes.

item number three

Sign The Agreement.

Once all the details are coordinated, the patient will sign an agreement on the oocytes purchase.

item number four

Contact Your Clinic.

You should contact your fertility clinic to inform them that you have purchased donor oocytes through the Ovoria egg bank. Before sending the oocytes, the patient's fertility clinic must confirm that they are ready to accept the biomaterial. After that, we should receive the contact details of the person in charge at the patient's clinic in order to arrange all the details of the order and further shipment (date, time, address).

item number five

Shipping Donor oocytes to your clinic.

At Ovoria, we have our own logistics department, so the transportation of oocytes is managed by ourselves. In this way, we are able to guarantee safe, hand-carried delivery directly to your clinic.
